Four Fun Facts About Mass Shootings

 I have been somewhat busy lately, and the news has not featured guns, unless it has been a mass shooting of the right sort.  Yes, there has been the reviews of the latest 1911 style pistols that attempt to reproduce the WWII flavor complete with parkerized finish.  But we have reviewed those before and don't need another.

In any case, I have been catching up, and noticed a piece at PJ Media that I had missed entitled Four Mass Shooting Truths To Shut Down Your Liberal Family Members At Thanksgiving Dinner by Kevin Downy, Jr. But these four facts can actually be used anytime, anywhere. They are timeless.

So let's dive in to the four truths, shall we?

Mass Shooting Secret #1: The AR-15 Is Not a Mass Shooter’s Weapon of Choice

When you’re arguing at the Thanksgiving table with your liberal sister-in-law and her green-haired, trans-pan muxe-puke femme-boi?friend, she’ll go full-harpy on how AR-15s are the preferred weapons of mass shooters. This is odd, because even the Pravda-like lefty media outlet ABC News had to admit that’s false. As did Newsweek and The New York Times. Yet the left somehow still manages to convince their quislings that assault semi-automatic rifles are the problem. Why is that? We’ll discuss that in a bit.

So sad to break it to the gun grabbers but just because a rifle resembles a military weapon does not make it a weapon of war. Nor does it become the weapon of choice for mass shooters. Think about it for a moment. The mass shooter has to get within range of is targets. But that is hard to do if he is carrying around an AR 15 rifle. They are not easily concealable.

Mass Shooting Secret #2: Most Mass Shooters Aren’t Angry White MAGA Dudes

No mass shooting argument is complete without a bolshie screeching that “angry, white men” are responsible for the lion’s share of mass shootings. Again, this lie warrants five whopper Pinocchios. Also, it’s where your lib-in-law will lose its gender-free mind when you show him/her/zhim this article.

As I’ve written before, most mass shootings are committed by black men. The media goes radio-silent when black dudes blaze up a rap concert, as we saw when three black men perforated more than 22 people in Miami in May of 2021. That story disappeared pretty quickly. As did a recent Halloween drive-by in Chicago that left 13 people injured, including three kids, and one man dead. No MAGA hats or white suspects were found.

In fact, most of the 600 plus mass shootings are committed by gang members shooting up other gang members, their friends and families. After all, gang members can not go to the police, so resolve all disputes themselves, and they have a lot of disputes. They also do not care. One suspects that if one is in the business of committing crimes, there may be a void where his conscience would normally reside.

I have mentioned before that Leftists of whatever stripe always need an enemy, someone to scapegoat. It is in Alinsky's rules for radicals. It helps if that enemy is not aggressive. In Nazi Germany, the scapegoats were Jews, Gypsies, and various people exhibiting handicaps. We mostly remember the Jewish Holocaust, and we must never forget it. In today's world, the straight white Christian male is the new scapegoat, the Jew. We are the target of the moment precisely because we are not thought to shoot back. And even if we do, prosecutors will treat us more harshly than the perpetrators against whom we defended ourselves.

Interestingly, most of the arguments listed here are utilitarian.  We are in a war of fact vs falsehood.  But there is a principle involved.  God said "Thou shall not murder" (one another.)  Taken to extremes, if the murdering continues there will be just one person left.  Hard to reproduce, huh?  At the same time, because God know not everyone would be down with His commandments, we must be able to defend ourselves.  But note in every case of self defense, it is the perpetrator who escalates the situation to the point that a defense is called for.  Self defense is not murder.
