Here we go again

The second time's a charm, right?  In any case, Sen. Diane Feinstein  has introduced another so-called "Assault Weapons" Ban.

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on gun control. There will be blustering about the need for background checks for gun sales, closing so-called “loopholes” and getting “weapons of war” off the streets. Before the inflated labels get thrown around, it’s important to know the facts.

Larry Keane, the author, then goes on to slaughter the various arguments. He points out that every gun sold by a dealer requires a NICS background check. Oh, and these "weapons of war" aren't. Their the same semiauto rifles that have been around since the turn of the last century. Indeed, if Feinstein believes these are weapons of war, then why wouldn't she propose issuing them to our troops?  Scratch that, she might just do it.  But you can read the article for yourself. What I want to talk about is that Sen. Feinstein claims this gun grab will prevent crime. But in fact, it does nothing to reduce guns in the hands of criminals. They can just go buy a stolen gun out of the back of someone's car. Every gun grab depends on people obeying the law, and they ain't the criminals.

“This has taken me, a law-abiding citizen with nary an unpaid parking ticket to my name, over a month,” Kane told the Washington Free Beacon. “Meanwhile Joe Bad Guy has probably purchased several fully automatic AK-47s out of the back of an El Camino in a shady part of town with zero background checks.”
Just a thought here, but doesn't substantially burdening the law abiding citizen with countless prior restraints on a right constitute "infringement?"
