Keep in mind that the average citizen in NYC is disarmed by law, while of course the criminals are not. Naturally, DeBlasio's wife lives with armed body guards in Gracie Mansion, and will never have to face a violent criminal who is well armed, and has the advantage of picking the time and place of his attack.
