Anti-rights proponents like to tell us how dangerous it is to keep a gun in the
house, because the most likely scenario is that the criminal, who somehow
possesses superior martial arts and gun handling skills, will disarm you and
turn the gun on you. Here is a dose of reality.
I run these whenever I can find them to illustrate that crimes happen everywhere, and when you least expect them. Fortunately, most of us will probably never have to defend our lives, or those of our loved ones, with a gun. But, that probability is not zero. You wear seat belts, and purchase car insurance. You have smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. If you think the price of a gun is too great to pay for the small risk you might need it, fine. But don't make that choice for the rest of us.
